Some hundreds of Swiss francs later, here I am with a new camera and of course, a new entry!
Last month I made an impulse buy: there was a very cheap Angelic Pretty Sugar Pansy skirt in mint for sale on Lacemarket (It was only 50$! How could I resist?!)
Sugar Pansy is a print that I already own and I always told myself I would never buy the same print in different colours. Well, never say never I guess! Haha
I actually own the whole series in yellow (OP, headbow, bonnet, wrist cuffs and also the socks in both pink and yellow) and now the mint skirt joined my collection! Sugar Pansy has a special place in my heart because pansies are my favourite flowers but also because I bought the OP during my very first trip to Japan in March 2011 (that actually didn't end very well with the Tohoku earthquake).

I was surprised that a print can look very different according to the colourway you choose! While it is exactly the same print, the yellow OP and mint skirt have totally different vibes! Which one do you prefer?
I think AP prints from 2011 are my favourite! They used to be so detailed! |
I'm not really used to wearing skirts... so I'm actually still experimentating on how to coordinate them. I decided to go for an early Spring casual outfit, matching my new skirt with an Axes Femme pullover and yellow/mint accessories. I quite like this look and could wear it everyday!

And I wanted to end this entry by sharing my love for this cute tote bag from Maison de FLEUR. I actually never heard of that brand before, but my brother bought me accessories from them for my last birthday and I looooove them! I also recently saw more and more Japanese Lolitas having bags from them, so I thought I would share :) Check Maison de FLEUR out!
Aren't these frilled handles the cutest?! |
Sugar Pansy is such a spring approved print and stunning in all colorways. But I think yellow and mint are my favourites too.
ReplyDeleteIn my collection I have a couple double's and one triplet. Milky Planet is my holy grail I own it in 3 colors with matching headbows and wristcuffs for two of them. No socks or jewelry sadly. Other than that I also own a double Mary Making Party in both yellow and navy and I have an innocent world double but those are only different cuts. It doesn't bother me that much that I own the same print in different colors cause it gives me more opportunities to wear a print out in a new way. And on the other side it looks like a totally different dress in your closet.
It is nice to see that you are getting back to blogging again!
This outfit is so beautiful! I don't wear yellow, so wouldn't even think of coording the mint skirt with yellow, but it works so well and REALLY makes me hate this cold wave we have coming in right now - I want spring already, dammit! There are no doubles in my wardrobe, mostly because I tend to fall in love with a specific piece in a specific colourway, especially if it's a print. Of the pieces I already own, there are only two prints that I genuinely would like to own in another colour, but I won't be looking out for them and most likely will never buy even if I spot a great deal on them. My storage and funds are too limited and my life too short to own the same print in more than one version, at least for now. Maybe one day this will change or I'll find a print series that I really would love to own every piece of.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection you have there, Sugar Pansy is such a wonderful print. I'm all for collecting a print in multiple colours and cuts, though I haven't really done that myself yet.
ReplyDeleteJe trouve ça vraiment trop cool ! Et le print est magnifique <3
