Hi everybody! 2017 is finally here and I was super excited to share with you my very first outfit of the year! I also keep in mind my resolutions and will try to at least wear Lolita fashion once a month (what a good girl!)
Yesterday, I received a new dress (did I say I was keeping my resolutions in mind?... Definitely not the one about reducing the size of my wardrobe...lolilolololol) - Angelic Pretty Dreaming Present JSK in ivory!
When I very first saw the dress it was instant love, but then I noticed something that stopped me from buying it right away: teddy bears. Don't get me wrong, I love teddy bears and I even display some in my room but I was fearing they will look too childish on me. I really try to stay away from too sweet prints and to tend to a more mature style, so those teddy bears were bothering me. I started to carefully analyze the print: present boxes, antique lamps and teapots, cupcakes and of course bears (which honestly look more like antique bears of collection than just toys). The print reminded me more of a British tea party or antique shop than a baby room. Also, I remember that I used to own Angelic Pretty Little Bear's Café for a long time and loved the dress. The print was WAY MORE sweeter than Dreaming Present, but I never felt childish while wearing it. So I decided to go for it and bought the JSK in ivory and I'm so so so glad I did as I love the dress even more now that I have it in my hands. I took some details pictures so you can enjoy it too, because I think this print isn't getting the love it deserves!
As usual, the stock picture doesn't do justice to the print! |
Colours on the print are really vibrant and there are sparkly gold details! |
I think those scalloped hems are my favourite detail! |
That "Oh lala" tag made me laugh! So funny! |
The tag on the teapot says "French Tea Party". The Angelic Pretty logo is sparkling too! |
The "infamous" teddy bear! :D |
I immediately knew which coordination I would like to wear with it: a pink beret, a simple blouse and pink shoes! Some weeks ago, I was in Vienna and could shop at Forever21 (we don't have it in Switzerland....) where I found a super cute fluffy pink beret in sales at -50% and two pairs of pompoms earrings! I especially bought them thinking I would wear them with this dress, so as soon as I went back home I planned my outfit! Here it is:

I'm so happy with this outfit! It really turned out exactly how I imagined it :) and in the end, I'm super glad the teddy bears didn't keep me from buying the dress which is probably going to be one of my favourite pieces! It's quite casual, but fancy at the same time and the print features many different colours I could combine it with (brown, pink, gold, dark blue, etc) which makes it really versatile! And honestly, I don't think my outfit looks childish! It's cute and sweet, yes, but not childish! I even think it has a retro/vintage vibe!
To end this entry, here are more details pictures with some of the accessories I wear with my outfit!
This brooch actually belongs to my Eternal Rose Bouquet JSK! |
What about you? Did you already love a print but hesitated to buy it because you thought it would look too childish on you? What's keeping you from buying certain prints?
The detail photos are lovely! <3 I like this print so much better after seeing them.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteMost of the time, Angelic Pretty stock pictures don't do justice to the beautiful print! Colours look so washed out, but I'm glad my own pictures made you like the print a bit more! It really deserves some love!
Superbe ! :)
